ps

The StarHouse Discovery Center is now an Amazon affiliate. Go to http://starhousediscovery.org/store.html to see some good science books, music, equipment, & toys from amazon

what a way to end the year

on Tuesday, 29 December 2009, we held a Faraday's Holiday Event (http://starhousediscovery.org/faraday.html) We had much more success from it than expected: 86 people showed up, we raised almost 4x as much as we had paid for the room, & today, we made the FRONT PAGE of the Herald Journal: http://hjnews.townnews.com/articles/2009/12/31/news/news02-12-31-09.txt

& come to find out, someone (James?) has gotten ahold of the Discovery Space Simulator (http://cachevalleysimulator.blogspot.com/). James, we really should work together.

Progress

After spending the summer looking for a new department at USU to sponsor the Jr Engineering program, Neil Dabb, Arno Copely, and I decided that the best way to get the program up and running again would be to create our own non-profit organization. So we have done that: the StarHouse Discovery Center, with Jr Science & Astronomy as the outreach program. Our website is http://starhousediscovery.org. Now we are looking for volunteers for our Board of Directors and Advisory Board, and a financial officer. We are also planning a Faraday-type lecture/event for the end of December. More details to follow.
